Finish your adorable baby sculpt with these lifelike vinyl limbs.
Depending on which size form you used, you will want to get corresponding limbs as defined below. The cloth body is sold separately and can be added by checking the box. If you used considerably more clay to make your baby sculpt, than what is shown in the training DVD, you may want to get the next larger size of limbs.
- Small Sculpting Form: use limbs for a 17" baby
- Medium & Large Sculpting Forms: use limbs for a 19" baby
- Extra Large Sculpting Form: use limbs for a 22" baby
Painting your sculpt will bring it to life! You will need to paint the clay sculpt and vinyl limbs before you assemble the parts. Our Painting Clay Sculpts Special Technique Tutorial is very helpful if you have not painted a clay sculpt before. Use the same foundation flesh paints on the head and the limbs to get an overall even skin tone. Your paint brushes will work well on both the clay sculpt and the vinyl limbs.
Assembly of the parts is very easy! Stuff the cloth body slip with enough polyfil to have the consistency of a firm pillow. Many sculptors like to add glass or plastic beads to the doll's body and limbs to increase the sense of realism with extra weight. However, don't put too much polyfil stuffing in the arms and legs otherwise you won't be able to position the limbs - they'll stick straight out!
Next, attach the limbs using the cable ties that are pre-inserted in the cloth body slip. You want the ties to be tight enough to prevent the limbs from falling off, but not so tight so that you can rotate the limbs. When you're attaching the head take extra special care that you do not make the cable tie too tight and crack or damage the clay sculpt.
If you crack the neck of the sculpt apply additional clay over the crack and cure it before attaching the head again. Your sculpted baby is not a toy and shouldn't be handled more than necessary as this could cause damage to the sculpt. Take care when dressing the sculpt or adding a wig.
