How do we make a doll?
You can choose to make the doll from scratch by applying "make-up" (well, it's actually paint but it applies very similar to make-up!) which is excellent for girls who are a little older. Or, for a simpler project you can buy the doll pre-painted and simply assemble her. We offer a free video both on how to paint the doll and how to assemble a doll (Apple Valley Doll Works is a sister company of Secrist Dolls).
Does the doll come with paint?
The 18" Basic Doll & Painting Starter Kit includes the doll, the paints, and the paint brushes. If you have never painted a doll before purchase the 18" Basic Starter Kit. Once you've purchased the Basic Starter Kit just watch the online video (or purchase it on DVD with your Starter Kit for just $7.99) and you're ready to get started! The paint included in the Starter Kit is enough for several dolls so you only need to purchase the Starter Kit one time even if you plan to make several dolls together.
The doll parts are also available separately so you can purchase the head, limbs, hair, etc, a piece at a time. This is an excellent option for more serious doll creators and those who plan to resell their creations.
